Congrats to Scott Sparks and Bud Barn

As the first dispensary to have a license fully issued in Windham County, Vermont Bud Barn is poised be a major marijuana destination in Southern Vermont when it opens its doors in mid-October. Although legalization officially begins October 1st, owner Scott Sparks told The Manchester Journal he’s not rushing it.

"Just be patient,” he told them. “We're going to get there as fast as we can, but we want to do it the right way. We want to make sure when people come into the store, they have a positive experience."

Scott definitely sweats the small stuff, a smart approach in an industry that will certainly inspire a lot of frenzied Gold Rush-style errors in judgment. His other businesses, Vermont Hempicurean and Vermont Grow Barn, have been deliberate stepping stones toward the opening of Bud Barn.

He’s building and sustaining his brand the right way, respecting customers, being a good curator, and demonstrating what it means to do business like a Vermonter.
